Bluebell Cottage

“We wanted to tell you and Keith how much we enjoyed our time in County Durham in October.  Our holiday was long overdue, and we couldn’t have picked a better place for it. Bluebell Cottage was the perfect base for exploring the stunning Weardale and Teesdale countryside – in a superb location, absolutely immaculate, really cosy, and outstandingly well equipped. Plus being near local facilities, and, most important, some excellent eateries…! You and Keith were great hosts, too. Thank you both very much.  We just find everyone in the North East is so friendly and welcoming, and always have a real “switch off” when up there!  Hopefully we’ll be able to stay with you again soon.  In the meantime, hope everything is going well with you and Keith.”

"5 adults and two toddlers stayed in Bluebell Cottage, and we had a great time! Jane and Keith, the owners, were very welcoming and always contactable if we needed anything.  The cottage itself was lovely and clean, and was very well presented - everything looked new and fresh. There were little touches that made it special, like wine in the fridge and a toiletries pack in the bathroom. Jane also provided toddler essentials (double buggy, potties and high chairs) which made life easier. We were on holiday celebrating two special occasions and they incorporated this into the welcome pack they left for us - my mum was really touched.  The cottages are in a very rural location, so you couldn't be without a car, but everything you need is within easy reach. It was lovely to open the curtains in the morning to sheep and fields! We were able to open the front door and let the children run in and out by themselves as the cottages are set back from the road. We had a great time. There was plenty of space for all of us to live comfortably, and we came away with good memories.”

"The cottage and its location a definite ‘HIDDEN GEM’, well equipped and fitted out. Our family, including those who live in the area have visited and have been very taken with the cottage. It’s been a very hectic stay for us introducing our new grandson to the wider family, but we have had this lovely cottage to return to and relax. Best wishes.”

 Bramble Cottage

"Our stay at bramble cottage was far to short to appreciate all that the area had to offer. The warm and genuine welcome we had plus the lovely cottage, which was absolutely spotless and well equipped. The surrounding country side was beautiful and without a doubt we will make another visit.”

"What an amazing place - beautiful scenery great cottage.  The cottage we stayed in was Cornmill - the upstairs bedroom is fantastic - the kitchen is huge and well stocked - and there is plenty of room for 6 people - the owners are lovely - everyone commented on what a great find it was and are talking of booking it again - it is great for getting away from it all.”
